Introducing The NEW Workout
A Total Body Over Mind Experience

Beginning this Spring, Flexibility For Athletes & Kripalu's Institute For Extraordinary Living announces an exclusive new training program at The Kripalu Center. This revolutionary technique crosses the barriers of Fitness and Yoga to create an entirely NEW Workout geared towards all recreational and professional sports including: walking, running, cycling, rowing and the fitness club enthusiast.

Based on Ed Harrold's Flexibility for Athletes performance training philosophy, The NEW Workout creates workouts for all levels of fitness by creating a body over mind atmosphere. The NEW Workout harnesses the wisdom of the body by using basic, intermediate and advanced yogic breathing techniques as Inspiratory Muscle Training in cardiovascular fitness. It combines the best of yoga: breath, postures, relaxation and meditation to create positive feelings and results to any workout.

The NEW workout uses cross-patterning yoga sequencing that creates more body awareness and recalibrates the neuromuscular system as well as sport-specific yogic breathing. This program includes customized workouts to enhance speed, endurance, strength, flexibility, and balance. This program also includes select mental training that creates positive patterning towards exercise and guarantees optimal performance in every workout.

There are five 5-day modules. A cycling module for those interested in indoor spinning, road cycling and/or mountain biking; a running module; a walking/hiking module; a rowing module for the indoor rower, crew athlete and/or lifeguard rower; and a fitness club module for those interested in cardio equipment and strength training.

In addition, we're launching our 70-Hour Flexibility For Athletes Teacher Training at Kripalu Center. The First 70-Hour Training for Yoga Teachers, Athletic/Personal Trainers & Team Coaches!

Flexibility for Athletes Teacher Training is specifically designed to help you create yoga based fitness programs that harness the "Inner Athlete" in everyone! This program combines the best of the early yogic systems into the current sports and fitness paradigm. This training is designed for those who want to teach or master The NEW Workout. The secret behind the transformation is harnessing the wisdom of the body using basic, intermediate and advanced yoga breathing techniques to enliven and invigorate the workout experience.

This Training Is Perfect For:
• Yoga Teachers who want to incorporate cutting-edge fitness principles with yogic breathing techniques to create a new revenue stream
• Personal Trainer/Coaches who would like to incorporate yogic fundamentals into sessions to create more effective results for clients and athletes
• Yoga or Fitness enthusiasts seeking a way to challenge themselves further and create energy-enhancing personal workouts

We are so pleased and excited to bring this work to Kripalu on a large scale. This will also allow us to expand and reach new levels with the research of this work through our affiliation with the Institute for Extraordinary Living at Kripalu Center. The Flexibility For Athletes performance training program will also be appearing at the 2008 International Health Raquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) Convention in San Diego in partnership with Concept2. Not only will we focus on the indoor rowing and the crew athlete at the Convention but also the other sports we target through our New Workout philosophy. The beauty of this program is it reaches all levels of fitness, IN ANY SPORT, and is appropriate in fitness club environments as well as training facilities for competitive sports teams.
